Strangely enough, it's been almost exactly a year since the last time I wrote about film critic embargoes, that being the Ballerina embargo snafu from last June. In fact, I've been documenting embargo issues for nearly the entirety of The Film Maven's existence. Some would say this topic is too inside baseball. Who cares how soon critics have to write a review. Well, I'd argue it's continuing to show the lack of respect for critics from those in power, and it's having implications on people's ability to do the job of film criticism at all.
