Back in August former New York Times film critic Kyle Buchanan made the decision to leave the hallowed newspaper in order to launch The Kyle Buchanan Show. According to Variety, "Released twice weekly, ''The Kyle Buchanan Show' will feature two distinct formats. Every Tuesday is 'The Panel,' with Buchanan joined by two to three rotating industry guests to break down the biggest stories in Hollywood. Every Friday is 'The Profile,' a one-on-one conversation with a major star." A few weeks later Jenelle Riley, former deputy awards and features editor for Variety, also announced plans to start a podcast entitled The Process Unlocked.

Outside of both being announced relatively close together, they do bring up questions about the future of entertainment journalism. Something you know I've been trying to read the tea leaves on for as long as this series has existed. Is the future of our industry in pivoting to podcasting?
