I've been thinking a lot about conservatism entering the culture space, and that was before the recent news about Bari Weiss potentially taking over CBS News and Olivia Nuzzi, the New York Magazine reporter who was exposed for having an intimate relationship with RFK Jr, going to work at Vanity Fair. But it's worth revisiting this question as culture criticism tries to stave off its own death by doing as the Romans do.

This is a trend I started noticing in looking at journalism gigs via various newsletters and job boards. Fox News had several positions open in the entertainment and culture space. A journo friend of mine applied and did an interview where one of the questions asked was how well-versed they were in Fox News personalities, as much of the coverage would be skewed towards that. A few months back I noticed a job posting for a film critic. The job paid decent money (for film criticism!) and was fully remote. It was also for a strongly conservative website that included in the job post how reviews would primarily conservative content and/or reviewing movies through a similar lens.
