The Golden Globe nominations dropped this week and hit with all the intensity of a wet washcloth slapping everyone in the face. (After the whole WB/Netflix thing, anything else was bound to be uninteresting.) It's also because the Globes continue to struggle with their reputation of late. Not just the issues with their recent "Best Podcast" nominations, but also their connections to various assaults, and the prominent discussion of their pay for play tactics. The L.A. Times does a great job of laying everything out.

But they're still a basic indicator of the movies that made a mark on audiences in 2025 and, no doubt, will have connections to the upcoming Oscars (which are in three months and counting).

So, with that being said, I don't have any grandiose thoughts on the Golden Globe nominations so these are just gonna be stray ideas. I welcome any stray thoughts, disagreements, what have you, in the comments!
