You've heard me talk about my love for Kiss of the Spider Woman, whether it's on TikTok, my review, or the conversation I had with its director, Bill Condon recently. There's such beauty and reverence for Old Hollywood found within it, as well as a true love story between two people trying to fight off political oppression. It's certainly a movie for our times.
And for a movie that looks so good it shouldn't be surprising that its leading lady, Jennifer Lopez, also looks flawless. The actress has to play a trio of roles, from Ingrid Luna, the actress, to the fictional character of Aurora and her villainious counterpart, the Spider Woman. It was a unique challenge for Lopez's makeup artist, Scott Barnes. "I love period pieces and I love old movies so, for me, it was amazing," Barnes tells The Film Maven.
